Wow... I havn't updated this in a while!

Well, I have successfully recovered from the Swine Flu, it only lasted 5 days, although I had a cough that stck around for a rediculous amount of time afterwards...

In band, marching season is now over, and we had a great season with straight 1's at all of our competitions, including state finals. We never got too close to winning any, but it's still a good feeling. Cancert season has started, and today we got our chairs (which we had to audition for.) There are three bands. Top band: Wind ensemble. Middle band: Symphonic. Lesser band: Concert. Also, there are 8 French horns. Although horns are never in concert for some reason. Maybe because we're such a small section. Moving on... I got First Chair Symphonic. Not too bad. 5th in the section. But, I AM a sophmore. The ONLY sophmore in the section, thank you... But it's understandable. With 4 horns in each band, I lost to 3 upperclassmen and a freshman (Who is AMAZING, not to mention she's the little sister of my squad leader last year who graduated...)

Also, I'm in the high school's musical: Bye bye Birdie! Yay me! I squeezed my way in, I think. I'm in the adult chorus, which only has one song to itself and only appears at all for about 4 or 5 songs... yeah, fun. And practice is getting longer and more frequent. We're performing in early december, wish me luck!

In less happy news, someone in school stole my iPod AND my new graphing calculator out of my backpack. Makes me mad. By the time I'd reported it from giving up on finding them in the house, I couldn't remember when it was exactly I lost them. Grr. Getting a new iPod for christmas, and my parents will have to get me another $100+ calcualtor...

I got a haircut! That's right, my head is 4-5 inches worth of hair lighter, more if you count the layers. I'm wearing it down more often, too. Also, I used the haircut as an excuse to strt wearing makeup! That's right, Katie is wearing makeup on a regular basis, now! I used the eyeliner I got for my halloween costume. Only way to get around Dad.

And the biggest peice of news, in my opinion: I'M A GODMOTHER!!! My second cousin Laurra had her baby, Cal! I'm going to be godmother, and my Dad will be godfather. It's like a circle. Dad is Laura's godfather, Laura is my godmother. XD

We dissected fetal pigs in vet science. I learned much stuffs. Her name was Hariet. Worst part was the preservatives, methinks.
